10 Ways To Let Young Children Know You Love Them

  1. Notice them, it’s easy to look over their heads, ignore or step around them.  Children do not like to feel like they are being ignored or rejected!
  2. Be gentle with words, sticks and stones may break their bones but words may bruise their hearts.
  3. Protect them from dark places, bullies and monsters of the world.
  4. Forgive them quickly for childish acts, mistakes and wrong doing.
  5. Teach them that some times it’s ok to cry and be sad, love them and be willing to dry their tears.
  6. Pray with them and teach them to pray.
  7. Spend time with them even if that means not doing anything special.  Children like to be with people that care for them.
  8. Discipline with love, never punish out of anger, resentment or hate.
  9. An appropriate hug speaks louder than words!
  10. Listen to children when they are hurting, that’s when a child really needs a friend.
